Enjoy a flashback to a few summers ago. It was a magical time. I turned 16, and the summer of '72 will forever be etched in my memory with water skiing, fun and games, and romance.
On this fourth of July, thirty-seven years ago, we gathered at the Pines. The night before some of our friendship group spent the night camping out under the stars. The Fish and Game had a building there with several bunk beds. No! What are you thinking? We dragged the mattresses outside and set them up on a tarp to sleep. There weren't any known romances in our group at that time, so our parents let us do this. Except I don't remember the Auriches being there. Their parents must have had other thoughts about it all. The next day, the Fourth, our parents brought the food, and the Auriches and Latimers brought their boats.
Does it get any better than this? A time to be carefree, no worries, your whole life ahead of you. Then the moment is gone and so are the friends . . . college, missions, marriage. But the memories still remain. A gift that keeps on giving. Thank you.
Life gives us brief moments with another . . . but sometimes in those brief moments we get moments that last a life time."
