Money Matters

Splurge vs Steal . . . things you are willing to splurge your hard-earned cash on and things that are down right painful to spend money on (and no doctors, insurance, and taxes, either).

"It's good to have money and the things money can buy; but it's good, too, to check up once in a while and make sure that you haven't lost the things that money can't buy." George Horace Lorimer

Splurge:

  1. Memories -- family vacations

  2. Books

  3. High thread count sheets

  4. Clothes that fit

  5. Gifts for others

"People are living longer than ever before, a phenomenon undoubtedly made necessary by the 30-year mortgage." Doug Larson

Steal:

  1. Food -- like expensive restaurants

  2. Cruises (have always been on the company's dime)

  3. Shoes and purses

  4. Car maintenance -- oil changes, tires, repairs, etc.

  5. Time
"Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that." Norman Vincent Peale

Next Week: Naughtiness 101 . . . What is your secret snack -- your Achilles heel -- something you hide away or maybe just love a little too much?
