Christmas Tradition #1 . . . Do you put up Christmas lights? Yes
When? Before Thanksgiving, after Thanksgiving, or under duress. The first house on the block? Before Thanksgiving, but don't turn them on until Thanksgiving night. Yep, the first house to spread some cheer.
How much to you do? Throw some nets over the bushes, around the front door, along the roof line, maybe a few trees, or plug in an inflatable globe and call it good. All of the above, but no inflatables. With the addition of a Toolman s.i.l., we had to up our game.
Who does it? You, hubby, or a family affair? Hubby takes two Saturdays to complete this task. If I want it done a certain way, I help. This year he did it all himself, but I noticed he didn't do as many trees or light up the sidewalk area. It's all good!

That picture made me laugh out loud! At our house Dell usually puts up the lights. He hates heights as much as I do, but he is "the Man"and does step up to the plate on this duty.It usually gets put off until the last minute, and so it is usually done in the coldest day possible. He got off of the hook this year because he fell off of a ladder at his parents'and broke a vertibrae in his back. So the only ice- cycle lights hanging this year will be from the inside of the front window. The E.R. said most falls this time of year are from hanging lights or cleaning out rain gutters. Before Dell took on this responsibility, my son Michael did it. Maybe I should call him. He is not afraid of heights and is the only one without a bad back.
