He sends you flowers when what you really want is time to talk. She gives you a hug when what you really need is a home-cooked meal. The problem isn't your love -- it's your love language! In this international bestseller, Dr. Gary Chapman reveals how different people express love in five different ways:What speaks volumes to you may be meaningless to your spouse. But, here, at last is the key to understanding each other's unique needs. Apply the right principles, learn the right language, and soon you'll know the profound satisfaction and joy of being able to express your love -- and feeling truly loved in return.
This is my bookclub's selection this month -- you know since February is the month of Loooove. I found out about it when my daughter's group read it last month. And can I tell you how much sense it makes out of this whole thing called love. What if your wife spoke Spanish and you spoke Russian? You can imagine how difficult it would be to connect. Have you ever made some special effort, and it didn't quite "land" -- more like "serving it up with a sieve". It doesn't mean mature healthy people can't recognize and appreciate other's acts of love, but wouldn't it be nicer to have your love bucket full? I highly recommend this reading, not only for newlyweds, but seasoned veterans like many of us.
